Interesting Par 3
Bill took me golfing for father's day and we went to the Gypsum Golf Course. About 45 minutes west of Carbondale off of I-70. It is a very challenging course, especially the front 9. Target golf!
There was a par three though that was pretty cool. You wind your way up a long and steep grade hill. Would not recommend walking this course. There are speed bumps on the way back down so you don't fly off the mountain.
A view from the tee box. The sign says 178 yards. Not sure that accounts for the 150' straight down to the green!

Carbondale Rodeo
We went to the Rodeo Thursday night. There is one every Thursday night. It was a great time and last about two hours. If get there early enough, you can back your truck up to the fence and watch the rodeo from your truck bed.
All sorts of activities. Kid's got to bronco ride sheep. There was lassoing time trails. Races pulling your partner on hides. Bull riding... The place was packed.

Watching 4-6 year olds ride sheep was pretty entertaining! |

Now the insurance........
Called Miller Insurance yesterday and waiting on an adjuster to call back today. I suspect that there is easily $2000-$3000 in damage to the trailer. The rubber roof is torn in multiple places, the fiberglass/wood is showing where the arms ripped off the side of the trailer, the hole in the roof which protrudes into the kitchen and the awning itself.
Now that we are fulltimers the idea of putting our "home" in the shop for several weeks for repair brings on a whole new meaning! Carbondale, CO is in the middle of nowhere when it comes to repair facilities. The closest place is Denver (3 1/2 hours away).
Have to see how this plays out after talking to the adjuster.

70 mph Micro burst
So I've been a little slow in updates even though I have several but this one warrants putting in now. We had a 20 second, 70 mph freak micro burst of wind on a sunny, no clouds in the sky day! The pictures say it all. A hanging plant on the awning landing 30 yards away! My "heavy" golf clubs in their travel bag were blown to the other side of the trailer. A friends boat was moved and the wind so strong it almost took it off its trailer!
